I think I shot the better part of a roll of E-6 film on this wonderful little sliver of a moon. Unlike the rest of the planet, where the moon actually rises "up", at the pole it mostly moves to the left. The "away from the horizon" motion is pretty subtle compared to that from the earth's rotation.

It was just about midnight when I shot this frame, along with a handful of other happy polie-photographers.
