Ice crystals hanging in the air make for gorgeous sun-dogs and pillars at the pole. On this day at around 10am, the sun silhouetted the El-Dorm nicely from the view between the generator arch and the new station. I ran outside to shoot this photo wearing my holy jeans, but soon returned in full ECW with the film camera for more of the action. A scanned film version of the scene is in the film slide show.

The original photo of this scene was color digital, but through selective combination of the various color channels and a bit of (digital) dodging and burning, this B&W image resulted. I'm very fond of it.
