Welcome!
I got started with photography in 1993 with a camera that I received for Christmas. I spent the first few years trying to capture images that simply refused to be captured. A few turned out pretty well, but many results were a far cry from the scene I thought I'd seen through my viewfinder.

Wondering what I was doing wrong, I went to a few "get a clue" style classes & seminars during the spring of 1996.

Oh yes... Then it all began...

Since its first creation (started on my laptop, in the Christchurch, New Zealand public library) in 2002, I've placed a whole 'butt-load' of imagery on the site. Some of the imagery is from way-back-when, and some from much more recently. The photos are from a variety of media, ranging from 35mm and medium format film, to digital capture.

Featured on this page are two photos I shot in 1997 while attending graduate school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Trees, leaves, and the sky, reflected in water.

I created these two images while on B&W kick, while trying to get my color workflow system into some semblance of order. The original transparencies are color, and might eventually change with mouse-overs.

I'm presently living in Colorado, where water's a bit of a valuable commodity, (sparking a huge political brouhaha with every bend of a dry riverbed). So, with that, my beloved kayak waits patiently in the garage...

Lake Superior beckons!
